Football and soccer this weekend. I didn't feel like going to any of it this weekend. That's kind of unusual - not something I allow myself to feel.
The kids and grandkids are my lifeline. They connect me to the world. They are my reason to stay alive. There are no options when it comes to going to whatever game they're playing. I'll be there.
They center me - they help me feel rooted - attached to the ground - real.
The sun is shining - the weather is beautiful - the leaves are turning - the kids are playing a great game - and I find that, in spite of how the day started, I'm grateful to be here.
Sometimes you take a chance - push yourself - and the reward is worth the risk. I doesn't always work out that way, but today it did. I'll take it!
