Movie Memories

Mamma Mia

A couple months ago on a gray, rainy day, Greg stopped by.

"I'm ready to escape the gray day with a movie." I said.  "Interested?,"

"I'm in," He replied, settling himself in HIS chair.

I navigated to my saved movies (who hasn't seen Mamma Mia at least once?) and started Mamma Mia. As soon as the movie began, Greg started to sing.  He sang every word to every song for the next two hours.  I laughed till I cried.

I should know better than to be surprised at the things Greg knows.

August Rush

One Sunday morning I was flipping channels and saw that August Rush was just about ready to start.  I asked Greg if he had seen it - he hadn't.

"I think you'll like this one," I told him, hoping he would.

We watched the movie and at the end, I saw that Greg was crying.

"Wow!  What a great movie!," he offered.  "I can't believe I haven't seen it.  I'll definitely have to watch it again."

I loved the movie before I watched it with him, but now I love it even more.

A Man Called Ove

I didn't see this one, but I read the book and loved it.

Greg said that he watched it on HBO or something - in Swedish - with subtitles.  He said it was grainy and very poor quality, but it didn't take long before he no longer noticed the quality of the film or the subtitles.  He thought it was one of the best movies he ever saw.

I wish I'd had a chance to watch it with him.
